PM expects for more dialogues with workers

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on June 28 held a working session with the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labor to review the implementation of the regulations on the relations between the Government and the General Confederation in 2016-2017 and key measures for 2017-2018.

The PM highlighted crucial contributions of the workers to the nation’s socio-economic development in 2016 and in the first half of 2017.

He proposed the Confederation inspect the realization of the PM’s conclusions, directions and commitments for the workers as well as actively participate in establishing institutions, communicate policies and laws related to laborers’ regimes, contributing to the construction of a creative Government, serving the people and businesses.  

The Confederation has to coordinate with other functional agencies to tackle difficulties, promote production and create more jobs to keep up with the fourth industrial revolution, he said, asking it to organize more meetings and dialogues between leaders and workers and laborers, including the meetings between the PM and workers.

PM Phuc requested the Confederation to identify the roadmap in increasing the minimum wage and soon issue regulations on food safety guaranty in service of laborers at factories and plants.  

The PM asserted that local authorities and trade unions must create favorable conditions for production, business development, start-up, co-operatives, Foreign Direct Investment and all business types to address employment issues.

Sectors and agencies at all levels and enterprises have to pay attention to laborers’ material and spiritual lives as well as establish strong relations between laborers and businesses, he added.
