PM discusses investment promotion with European diplomats

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted an August 16 reception in Ha Noi for Belgian Ambassador to Viet Nam Jehanne Roccas, Ambassador and Head of the European Union (EU) delegation to Viet Nam Bruno Angelet, and Chargé d'Affaires of the German Embassy Wolfgang Manig, in order to discuss investment promotion activities of European businesses in Viet Nam.

Welcoming the diplomats to the meeting, the PM spoke highly of the Viet Nam-EU relations as a whole and the bilateral ties between Viet Nam and Belgium and Germany in particular, whilst attributing the fine development of these relationships to the active and effective contributions made by the Ambassadors and Chargé d'Affaires.

He emphasized that the Vietnamese Government, with its policy of building a facilitating government, always creates the most favorable conditions and the best investment environment for domestic and foreign enterprises to conduct effective business in Viet Nam.

Viet Nam always welcomes European companies’ investment in the country using environmentally friendly technologies, the PM said, affirming his willingness to listen and direct ministries, sectors and localities to handle any arising difficulties faced by the businesses.

Discussing Hamon Group’s desulphurization cooperation contract at the Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant in Viet Nam, Belgian Ambassador Jehanne Roccas stated that Hamon is a prestigious company which was established over 100 years ago in Europe.

Hamon has participated in promoting the signing of a cooperation contract at the Song Hau 1 Power Plant, she said, expressing her wish that the Vietnamese Government and functional agencies support and create favorable conditions so that both sides can soon realize the contract in the spirit of mutual benefits.

PM Phuc said he would assign the Ministry of Industry and Trade to take measures to remove obstacle, thus enabling the two sides to soon implement the aforementioned project.

Sincerely thanking the PM for his support, the Belgian ambassador voiced her hopes that Hamon Group’s cooperation deal at the Vinh Tan 1 Thermal Power Plant would also be implemented in a convenient manner.

At the reception, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc called on the Ambassadors and Chargé d'Affaires to actively introduce and connect businesses of both sides, aiming to facilitate their market research, investment and business in Viet Nam and in Europe as well.
