At the meeting, the PM highly spoke of John Kerry’s active efforts to contribute to the advancement of the Viet Nam-US relations.

He called on John Kerry and his friends to continue practical contributions to further intensify the bilateral ties in the future.

Phuc also appreciated the former US Secretary of State’s ideas on renewable energy development in Viet Nam, affirming the Government considers it as a priority.

John Kerry expressed his interests in the development process of Viet Nam and expected to play a role in helping the Southeast Asian country to deal with climate change and unleash renewable energy potential, especially wind power.

The same day, PM Phuc received Pete Peterson, the first American Ambassador to Viet Nam.

At the meeting, Pete Peterson expressed his delight at the increasingly growing ties between Viet Nam and the U.S after the latter removed the trade embargo on Viet Nam 25 years ago.

Some American investors are showing their interest in the operation of the Ha Noi-Hai Phong expressway, he said, adding that he has made efforts to seek for investors who have strong financial capacity to invest in the project.

PM Phuc spoke highly of Peterson’s above initiative, adding he will task the Ministry of Transport to mull over the initiative and report to him for consideration and approval./.
