PM chairs first meeting of new Cabinet

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on April 12 in Ha Noi convened the first meeting of the newly-established Government right after the closing of the 13th National Assembly’s 11th session.

PM Phuc warmly welcomed the new Deputy PMs, ministers, and ministerial-level leaders who were ratified by the NA and appointed by the State President. He said that it was a great honour and heavy responsibility entrusted by the Party, State, and people.

Mr. Phuc emphasized that the first meeting discussed pressing issues in April and the next few months such as response to natural disasters, settlement of business obstacles, budget collection, cumbersome apparatus, social evils, food hygiene, diseases, and traffic accidents.

The Government leader highlighted the determination to combat corruption and exercise disciplines.  

He asked Government members to take early actions to fulfil the assigned missions.  

In April, the PM plans to chair a business conference to resolve obstacles for enterprises; another on food hygiene; and put forth specific measures in response to natural disasters.

In the short term, the Ministry of Planning and Investment was assigned to research on specific regulations on ODA and public debts with a view to reducing budge burdens and developing the investment and business environment.

The State Bank of Viet Nam was asked to keep a close watch on non-performing loans and ensure safety of the credit system.

The Ministry of Finance was entrusted to report on usage of public assets and propose useful measures to prevent wastefulness.

The Ministry of Information and Communications and the Office of the Government were asked to promote the building of e-Government./.
