PM chairs Cabiet meeting for June

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc presided over a Government’s regular meeting with leaders of 32 provinces and cities on July 4.

The video-teleconference applied the e-Cabinet system which was launched on June 24. This is the second Government’s meeting which used the e-Cabinet system. 

Accordingly, relevant documents were added to the system for Government’s members to research. 

The event targets to evaluate socio-economic development in the first half of 2019 and discuss measures in the coming time.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment reported that GDP growth rate was estimated at 6.76%, lower than that of 2018 but higher than those in the 2011-2017 period. 

Noticeably, the agricultural sector coped with the African swine fever and grew only 1.3% which is lower than the year-on-year rate of 3.07%. 

On the other hand, the aquatic sector picked up 6.45% thanks to high market demands, posting the highest level over the last nine years. 

In June, consumption price index (CPI) saw a month-on-month decline of 0.09%. In the first six months, average CPI growth rate was 2.64%. 

The amount of FDI disbursement was estimated at US$ 9.1 billion, up nearly 8% against the same period last year.

Total retail sales of goods and service was on the rise. 

As of July 2, Viet Nam earned US$ 122.4 billion of export turnover and imported US$ 120.8 billion of goods. The country ran a trade surplus of US$ 1.6 billion. 

In the January-June period, nearly 67,000 enterprises were founded, up 3.8% in number and 32.5% in registered capital.

Meanwhile, 21,617 enterprises resumed operation, representing a year-on-year growth of 31.4%./.
