The Government chief made the request on Wednesday in Hanoi at the 18th session of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-corruption.

PM Dung pointed out the remaining weaknesses in anti-corruption work in which the fight has yet been put due attention and the amendments of anti-corruption regulations have been prolonged.

He tasked his inferiors to focus on accelerating information dissemination on anti-corruption and perfecting the legal system, policies and mechanisms especially on land, management of State-owned enterprises and State agencies’ accountability.

PM Dung also highly valued the Ministry of Public Security’s efforts to investigate and prevent activities of acquiring banks and damaging the stability of banking operations.

All individuals will be strictly punished in order to ensure transparency, security and safety of the country’s banking system, the PM stressed.

Report shows that in the first seven months of 2012, anti-corruption work made progressive results in terms of prevention, detection and settlement of corruption cases.

In the first half, over 6000 investigations were conducted and competent agencies proposed revoking over VND 6,4 trillion, 1,291 hectares of land and VND 258 billion of administrative violations.

Some 163 corruptions cases involving 275 arestees were put on trial in the first seven months./.
