PM calls for new ways to spur private sector development

The Cabinet leader made the statement at a national conference between the Government and localities in Ha Noi on December 28.

Evaluating Viet Nam’s economic situation over the past year, PM Phuc stated that the Government has overcome an arduous journey with many unpredicted difficulties to achieve positive results.

For the first time, the agricultural sector posted an export turnover of more than US$40 billion, he said, stressing that the economy reported a record growth rate of 7%, the highest in a decade.

The conference aims to not only review the year 2018 and set out tasks for the coming year, but also make comparisons from the beginning of the tenure to date, the leader noted

PM Phuc emphasized that the 2019 motto of the Government is “discipline, integrity, action, creativity, efficiency and breakthrough”. Accordingly, the Government will consider 2019 as a year of breakthrough to speed up development and prepare for the finish of the whole 2016-2020 period.
