PM attends whole army’s political-military conference

VGP – The Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Defence Ministry (MOD) organized a political-military conference for the whole army in Ha Noi on June 27, aiming to review the implementation of military and defence tasks in the first six months of 2017 and initiate tasks for the remaining half of the year.

Addressing the event, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc noted that the CMC and the MOD have strictly followed the Party and State’s directions, leading the whole army to perform well the assigned tasks in the January-June period.

He stressed the need to continue implementing effectively the national defence strategies; perform soundly institutional building work; improve the forecast and understanding of situations; and focus on enhancing the quality of training, fighting power and combat readiness.

The MOD needs to ensure the progress and quality of important draft laws it is tasked with compiling, he said, urging the effective implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 06-NQ/TW on constructing and developing the defence industry until 2020 and years ahead, attention paid to mass mobilization and gratitude work, and the effective deployment of defence diplomacy and international integration.

Highlighting the slogan “Discipline is the power of the army”, PM Phuc asked the CMC and the MOD as well as their affiliated units to resolutely directing the whole army to comprehensively and effectively fulfill the set tasks, with a focus on key contents, in association with timely inspection, supervision and encouragement.

In any circumstances, the Party, State and people always support and create the most favorable conditions for the army, the government leader affirmed, expressing his belief that the Vietnamese army will uphold the glorious tradition and overcome difficulties to successfully realize the assigned tasks, and forever deserves the title of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers” as well as the trust from the Party, State and people.
