The event, themed “Phu Yen – Investment Cooperation and Development,” gathers the attendance of more than 500 delegates, including leaders of ministries and sectors, representatives from foreign embassies and international organizations in Viet Nam, as well as domestic and foreign investors.

The conference offers a platform for Phu Yen to advertise its advantages and attract investment in the fields of its strength, such as sea-based economy, tourism, high-tech agriculture, agro-forestry and fishery product processing, minerals and renewable energy development.

Under the witness of PM Phuc, the Phu Yen authorities will grant investment licenses to a number of projects with a total registered capital of approximately VND12.4 trillion (US$545.6 million), whilst signing memoranda of understanding on investment cooperation with dozens of other projects.

Phu Yen possesses all kinds of traffic including road, railway, airway and waterway, with Vung Ro deep-water seaport, Bai Goc seaport and Tuy Hoa Airport. The province has a huge potential for tourism development, with its 190-kilometer coastline and multiple lagoons of wild and amazing beauty.

According to provincial leaders, in addition to incentives under current regulations, Phu Yen has made a great effort to accelerate administration reforms to support businesses and attracted investment in sea and island tourism, cultural, historical and entertainment tourism, infrastructure and urban areas, hi-tech agriculture, agri-forestry and aquatic processing, fishery logistics services, the application of new technologies, industrial automation technology and renewable energy.

They listed projects calling for investment like Xuan Dai Bay luxury sports and entertainment complex, Van Hoa eco-tourism complex and resort, a specialized tuna port, Phu Yen tuna market outlet, and infrastructure for an oil refinery industrial zone.
