PM attends Viet Nam-Tochigi Business Forum

The event, co-organized by Tochigi Prefecture, the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, attracted the participation of officials from 10 Vietnamese localities, business representatives from Tochigi Prefecture and Viet Nam.

It created an opportunity for both sides to share investment trends and measures to improve business and investment environment in Viet Nam, and to put forward recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of investment cooperation.

Currently, Japan is the largest official development assistance provider for Viet Nam with around US$27 billion and the second biggest investment source with US$64 billion, said PM Pham at the event.

The bilateral trade reaches approximately US$40 billion per year, making Japan the fourth largest trade partner of Viet Nam, he added.

Pham affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will create favorable conditions for enterprises from Tochigi, in particular, and Japan in general, to invest in Viet Nam in such fields like digital transformation, infrastructure development, human resource training, innovation, sustainable development and climate change adaption./.
