PM attends Tra Vinh investment promotion conference

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on January 15 is attending the investment promotion conference in the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh, the first local investment promotion conference in 2020.

With the theme “Tra Vinh-investment and development opportunity potentials”, the conference is organized on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the establishment of the province. 

The event, attracting the participation of 600 delegates, provides the overviews  of socio-economic development and investment connectivity and promotion. It also creates new perspectives for the province to enhance green economic development. 

Tra Vinh Province has a number of potentials and advantages for development, particularly renewable energy such as wind and solar power as well as tropical agricultural products and processing industry with key products like rice, coconut, fruits and peanut. 

Dinh An Economic Zone, located in Tra Vinh Province, is among the country’s 16 coastal economic zones. It is identified as one of the eight prioritized coastal economic zones for the 2016-2020 period. 

In 2019, the province granted investment certificates for 57 projects, including 54 domestic ones. 

Today, the province is scheduled to grant investment certificates for five projects, worth VND5,302 billion and award memorandums of understanding for 17 projects in the fields of agriculture, science-technology, electrification and logistics.
