PM attends ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit
VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his spouse have left Ha Noi to attend the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit and the 69th anniversary of the Republic Day in India from January 24-26 at the invitation of Indian PM Narendra Modi.
The Vietnamese delegation includes Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Minister of Defense Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of Bui Van Nam and leaders of some ministries, agencies and localities.
With the theme of “Shared Values, Common Destiny”, the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit creates an opportunity to promote Viet Nam-India relations and manifests the coordinating role of Viet Nam in the ASEAN-India relationship.
Besides enhancing the traditional relationship, Strategic Partnership and mutual belief, Viet Nam has effectively realized its coordinating role in ASEAN-India relations in the 2015-2018 phase and made contribution to accelerating the two sides to complete cooperative programs in all fields of politics, security, economics, culture and society.
India inviting leaders from the 10 nations in ASEAN to attend the 69th anniversary of its Republic Day for the first time has proved the crucial status and role of ASEAN in India’s diplomatic policy, showing India’s desires for an united ASEAN in the relations with India.
The same occasion, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc will also attend the 25th Anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations.
