PM asks Samsung to become global largest strategic hub in VN

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked Samsung to expand operation scale in Viet Nam for becoming the global largest strategic hub in the country at his reception for Vice Chairman of Samsung Group Lee Jae-yong in Ha Noi on October 30.

At the meeting, the PM highly spoke of Samsung’s total capital investment of more than US$17 billion in Viet Nam with the export value exceeding US$54 billion, creating more than 160,000 jobs. 

Viet Nam’s ministries, agencies and localities will facilitate Samsung's launch of successful operation, he asserted, adding that the success of Samsung is the symbol in Viet Nam-the Republic of Korea (RoK) relationship. 

He suggested the corporation expand investment in other areas such as research and development, infrastructure and energy. 

The PM proposed Samsung launch the Samsung research and development center project as committed with the Vietnamese Government, making contributions to promoting research and development in Viet Nam as well as continue practical support in training and technology transfer for enterprises operating in auxiliary industry in Viet Nam.

Mr. Lee Jae Yong affirmed to continue long-term investment and expanding operation in Viet Nam, expressing thanks to the Vietnamese Government and the PM’s support for the corporation in Viet Nam. 

The corporation is making efforts in contributing to the development of human resources in Viet Nam, he said.
