PM arrives in Bangkok for 35th ASEAN Summit

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc arrived in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday night for the 35th ASEAN Summit and related Summits from November 2-4 at the Impact Muang Thong Thani Arena, Exhibition Convention Center.

Phuc is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Minister of Trade and Industry Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung among other officials.

The Government chief is expected to attend the plenary session of the 35th ASEAN Summit on November 2, during which the regional leaders will discuss orientations and measures to build a sustainable ASEAN Community for its people.

Phuc will also have bilateral meetings with foreign leaders and attend business and investment events between Viet Nam and Thailand.

The next days, PM Phuc will attend summits with ASEAN partners, namely ASEAN-China Summit, ASEAN-India Summit, ASEAN-United Nations Summit, ASEAN Plus 3 Summit, ASEAN-US Summit, ASEAN-Japan Summit, East Asia Summit among others.

Following the closing ceremony of the 35th ASEAN Summit and related Summits on November 4, Thailand will hand over ASEAN Chairmanship to Viet Nam. At the hand-over ceremony, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc will deliver remarks on the theme and major orientations during Viet Nam’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2020.

The logo of the ASEAN Chairmanship 2020 and a short video introducing Viet Nam’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2020 of will also be screened./.
