PM approves restructuring plan of VINAFOOD2

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung has approved the restructuring plan of the Viet Nam Southern Food Corporation (VINAFOOD2) in the 2012-2015 period.

December 21, 2012 7:02 PM GMT+7

The move is part of the Government’s effort to restructure State-own economic groups for higher efficiency and competitiveness.

Under the plan, the corporation’s core business lines include the sale, protection, processing, storage and distribution of food, foodstuff and farm produce as well as farm produce import and export.

VINAFOOD2 is also allowed to do business in relevant fields like livestock feed, aquaculture processing, and packaging.

By 2015, the food corporation will have withdrawn its capital from Vietcombank, TrustBank, Bao Minh Insurance Corporation, Foodinco and a number of other joint-stock companies, according to the restructuring plan./.
