PM approves planning scheme of central economic zone

VGP – With a total area of 10,000 ha (8,900 ha of land and 1,100 ha of islands and water areas), the Hòn La Economic Zone (EZ) in the central province of Quảng Bình will become one of modern international commercial centers in northern Central Việt Nam.

Under Decision 1545/QĐ-TTg approving the planning scheme of the Hòn La Economic Zone, the PM ordered to promote the construction of material facilities and infrastructure in order to develop all production and business activities. It is necessary to focus on trade, export, import, services, tourism and sea-born economic industries.

Major industries like thermoelectricty, shipbuilding, cement production, marine product processing; shipping, are also prioritized, so as to establish create keynote industrial prodcuts.

As part of the planning scheme, non-tariff quarters will be built to facilitate the operation of the Hòn La Port, highways and border gates to form an important gateway to the East Sea for Southern Laos, Northeasten Thailand and the Mekong sub-region.
