PM agrees with HCMC’s proposal to impose tougher social distancing rules
VGP – The Prime Minister has agreed with Ho Chi Minh City’s proposal to impose tougher social distancing rules to soon curb the spread of COVID-19 in the southern metropolis, according to Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.
The entire city has been placed under social distancing in accordance with the Government's Directive No. 15/CT-TTg from May 31.
However, the daily infections keep on rising, particularly in recent days, to 8,151 as of 8:00 pm on July 7.
In a bid to contain the spread of the virus, the city requested that all people who travel to or leave HCMC must show negative SARS-CoV-2 test result issued within the preceding three days.
The Ministry of Health demanded all people with travel records to Ho Chi Minh City must isolate themselves at home for a week from the date they return to their hometown.
These people have to get tested for COVID-19 thrice, on the first, third and sixth date during this self-isolation period.
They are also requested to minimize contact with others, avoid taking part in mass gatherings, and notify the nearest medical establishments for help if they display such symptoms like fever, coughing, sore throat, shortness of breath, or loss of taste./.
