The PM has assigned the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) to report to the Politburo this month for permission before sending an official notice to the SEA Games Federation.

After the Politburo agrees in principle, Ha Noi’s People’s Committee will closely coordinate with the MCST and relevant ministries, agencies and localities to set up a plan on the organization of SEA Games 31 and Para Games 11 in a thrifty, safe, effective and successful manner.

According to the alternative order, Cambodia will organize the SEA Games 31 by 2021 and Viet Nam will host the SEA Games by 2023. However, Cambodia suggested and was approved by the South East Asian Games Federation (SEAGF) to chair the SEA Games 32 by 2023.

The SEAGF sent a letter to Viet Nam to announce that the SEAGF will grant Viet Nam the right to host the SEA Games 31 by 2021.

Based on the opinion of Ha Noi’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the city’s People’s Committee, the capital city of Ha Noi meets infrastructure demand for organizing the SEA Games 31 and Para Games 11.

Delegates joining the Government meeting on July 9 consented with Viet Nam’s host of the SEA Games 31 and Para Games 11 and assigned Ha Noi to chair these two events.

According to the report of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the SEA Games 31will be organized within 17 days and Para Games 11 for 11 days from October to December 2021.

As many as 16,000 people will join the SEA Games 31 and 4,000 ones will attend the Para Games.

As of 2019, SEA Games were organized in Thailand and Malaysia for six times, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines for four times, Myanmar for three times and Brunei, Viet Nam and Lao one.
