PM affirms priorities for 2012

VGP – Việt Nam will continue to give priority to curbing inflation, stabilizing macro-economy, ensuring social welfare, and maintaining a reasonable growth rate in 2012, said PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng.

The Government chief made the statement while receiving World Bank Managing Director Sri Mulyani Indrawati in Hà Nội on Friday.

Despite the global economic downturn, Việt Nam gained positive achievements with inflation falling and macro-economy stabilizing.

PM Dũng hoped that the World Bank would provide continued assistance for Việt Nam through projects on development goals realization like poverty reduction, infrastructure development, and economic restructuring.

PM Dũng also said the Government will focus on improving market economy institution and workforce quality and developing infrastructure along with the restructuring of investment, State-owned enterprises, and commercial banks.

Việt Nam is one of the countries that gained important achievements in reining in inflation, stabilizing macro-economic, and ensuring social welfare, noted Ms. Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

She affirmed that the World Bank is ready to support Việt Nam in policy consultation and provide financial resources for the country to realize development goals.
