At a reception for Cambodian Deputy PM and Minister of Home Affairs Samdech Sa Kheng in Ha Noi on January 9, the PM congratulated the Cambodian people on their significant achievements over the past years, reiterating that Viet Nam always hopes for a stable, peaceful and prosperous Cambodia.

On that sprit, he expressed his wish that Cambodia will successfully hold the communal council election, scheduled in June 2017, and the Parliament election in July 2018.

The PM stressed the need to maintain solidarity and valuable cooperation tradition between the two countries amid numerous challenges in the current world and regional situations as well as increased sabotage activities of hostile forces.

He called on the public security forces of both countries to strengthen the exchange of all-level delegations; maintain and effectively promote the existing cooperation mechanisms; and persistently pursue the principle of not allowing any hostile forces to use this country’s territory to vandalize the other’s peace, security and stability.

They also need to grasp the situation in a timely fashion and coordinate closely with each other in seeking measures to foil every plot of hostile forces and those who harm the interest and security of each country, he added.

PM Phuc asked the Cambodian side to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in the country to stabilize their lives, thus contributing to enhancing bilateral relations. He also suggested strengthening bilateral ties in the fields of trade and tourism in the future.

For his part, Samdech Sa Kheng noted that Cambodia’s Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam have enjoyed fruitful cooperation, particularly in the past decade.

The two sides have collaborated in ensuring a shared border of peace, security, friendship and cooperation, he said, thanking the Vietnamese side for its support in material, personnel training and experience sharing.

He stressed the need for the two ministries to further their ties to combat the increasingly complicated crime situation, while pledging to direct authorised agencies of Cambodia to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese people in the country.

The guest also took the occasion to thank the Vietnamese Party, State and people for their valuable support for Cambodia’s national construction and development cause.
