PM: Tien Giang becomes development force for Mekong Delta

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly spoke of the direct investment wave of VND16,000 billion to be poured in Tien Giang Province in the upcoming time, supposing that the province is ready to make breakthroughs in economic development and become a development force for the Mekong Delta region.

The PM made that statement at the Tien Giang investment promotion meeting on August 9 in My Tho, Tien Giang Province. 

Speaking at the meeting, the PM highlighted advantages of the province including its strategic location in the Mekong Delta, favorable transport to Ho Chi Minh City with economic corridor and connection point between the East and the West.  

Mr. Phuc expected that the province will attract more large-scaled businesses in fields of industry, agriculture, and services, especially the fruit processing industry.

Tien Giang Province consists of factors to become a super satellite of Ho Chi Minh City and the province is determined to realizing its visions effectively, he asserted. 

PM Phuc asked the province to actively provide capital resources, particularly preferential capital for businesses and people.

Credit debt of the province reached nearly VND49,000 billion, equal to 63% of the province’s GRDP, he said, requesting the province continuing to tackle obstacles in administrative procedures to create more opportunities for enterprises in getting access to financial resources and reduce expenditures.    

Under the witness of the PM, leaders of Tien Giang Province granted investment certificates for projects worth VND16,000 billion.
