Restructuring the economy must be realized synchronously towards improving the effectiveness and competitiveness of the economy, asserted the PM, adding that restructuring the SOEs is one of the three key factors in the work.

He affirmed that restructuring the SOEs is on the right track as planned and has helped these restructured businesses operate effectively.

He asked for stepping up the restructure of 289 SOEs as planned in 2015 and overcome obstacles and difficulties to increase the production output and contribute to completing the market economy.

The PM also highlighted the responsibility and determination of ministers, leaders of corporations and companies, and local authorities in restructuring the SOEs.

PM Dung required the Steering Committee to receive comments at the meeting to establish a specific plan as well as chair a meeting with relevant ministries and agencies to clear obstacles arising during the SOEs restructuring process.

As of March 24, 289 SOEs on the waiting list of equalization already established Steering Boards in charge of the process. Up to 207 of them were evaluating their assets while 81 others planned to announce their worth.

In January-March, 18 SOEs auctioned 100 million shares and earned VND805 billion (US$38.3 million).
