During his stay, PM Phuc attended Japanese Emperor Naruhito’s Enthronement Ceremony and court banquet marking the Emperor’s formal ascension to the throne, at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.

Phuc’s presence at the events demonstrates the fact that Viet Nam treasures the extensive strategic partnership with Japan – one of the top economic partners, the biggest official development assistance provider, the second biggest foreign investor and the fourth largest trade partner of Viet Nam.

The Vietnamese Government chief called on the Japanese Emperor to continue support for the advancement of the Viet Nam-Japan relationship for mutual benefits and for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

He took the occasion to extend deep sympathies to Japanese people over the devastating consequences of the Hagibis typhoon.
