Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc receives Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko, Ha Noi, March 29 , 2018

At the reception, the Belarusian Deputy PM briefed the Vietnamese government leader on the fruitful outcomes of his working session with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Viet Nam, regarding their review on bilateral cooperation after one year and a half of carrying out the Viet Nam-EEU free trade agreement and their combined efforts to deal with difficulties.

He suggested stepping bilateral cooperation in Belarus' strong fields such as the production of dairy, mechanical engineering and industrial products.

In turn, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has expressed his wish for higher trade value beyond the current level of US$100 million given the two countries’ great potential for cooperation.

Viet Nam always respects and desires to continue maintaining and reinforcing the sustainable ties of friendship and cooperation with Belarus, he told his guest.

High-level visits in recent years have provided the two countries with impetus to expand their cooperation across politics, economy, and people-to-people exchange. The free trade agreement between Viet Nam and the Eurasian Economic Union that came into force in late 2016 opened up many new opportunities and prospects for economic-trade partnership, Phuc said.

Referring to the East Sea, the PM asked Belarus to support the just stance of Vietnam and ASEAN on addressing the disputes in the waters by peaceful means basing on international law, especially the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 (UNCLOS 1982).

He assured Viet Nam's readiness to provide optimal conditions for Belarusian businesses to cooperate, invest, and do productive, stable, and long-term business in line with Viet Nam’s sustainable development.

He pledged that the country will work harder to help Belarus’s industrial, mechanical engineering, energy, and mining products gain an entry to its market.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc receives former Minister of Policy Coordination of the RoK Yoon Dae-hee.

In the same day, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc also received former Minister of Policy Coordination of the RoK Yoon Dae-hee.

At the reception, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highlighted the importance of cooperation in the fields of knowledge, technical assistance and technology transfer via the Republic of Korea’s investments in Viet Nam.

The PM said he is glad to see the former minister again and told him that the RoK has become one of the largest and most important investment and trade partner of Viet Nam.

He spoke highly of the RoK guest’s activities pertaining to technical assistance and the sharing of knowledge and experience.

In turn, the former minister said the Korean people are very keen to learn about bilateral cooperation with Viet Nam, especially high-level meetings of the countries’ leaders.

He spoke of his special attention to the knowledge-sharing programme between the two countries given it will contribute to Viet Nam’s socio-economic growth.
