PM Phuc welcomed the first visit to Viet Nam by the Ivory Coast FM, hoping that the visit would open up a new chapter and consolidate the friendship between Viet Nam and Ivory Coast.  The PM expressed his aspiration that businesses of the two countries will accelerate trade promotion activities.

The FM informed the host leader about his successful talks with Vietnamese FM Pham Binh Minh in which the two sides discussed a series of measures to cement and deepen the bilateral ties.

He called on Ivory Coast to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to operate in the African country and for Vietnamese goods to enter the market.

PM Phuc said he expects that Viet Nam and Ivory Coast will soon reach concrete outcomes in new cooperation spheres, stressing Viet Nam stands ready to share its experience and assist Ivory Coast in rice cultivation.

Ivory Coast would become a gateway for Viet Nam to enter the African market while Viet Nam would serve as a gateway for Ivory Coast to penetrate into the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as well as Viet Nam’s major partners, he said.

PM Phuc thanked the Government of Ivory Coast for creating favorable ways for the overseas Vietnamese community to integrate into the local community and make positive contributions to the bilateral ties.

In reply, the FM said with an open and attractive business environment, Ivory Coast hopes to attract more foreign investors, including those from Viet Nam.

The minister suggested the two countries soon sign agreements on investment protection and double taxation avoidance in order to improve the efficiency of the bilateral economic ties.

In the process of economic modernization, Ivory Coast wants to develop the processing industry, especially cashew processing./.
