PM Phuc greeted by Australian counterpart with a 19-gun salute

VGP - PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the high-level delegation of Viet Nam were greeted by Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull with a 19-gun salute at the welcoming ceremony at the Parliament House this morning.

After the ceremony, the two PMs will hold bilateral talks to discuss ways to further elevate the relationship between the two countries.

Viet Nam and Australia will upgrade the bilateral ties and sign a number of  cooperative documents in upcoming days, PM Phuc told Vietnamese diplomats and community on March 14.
 
Viet Nam and Australia set up diplomatic ties on February 26, 1973 and lifted the relationship to Comprenshive Partnership in 2009 and to Enhanced Comprehensive Partnership in 2015.
