Meeting with Lukas Paravicini, chief operating officer of Fonterra Cooperative Group, PM Phuc stated that the Vietnamese Government welcomed and highly appreciated Fonterra’s cooperation with its Vietnamese partners.

Highlighting the huge potential of the Vietnamese dairy market and the opportunities brought about by the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), he voiced his belief that Fonterra and New Zealand’s enterprises would make good use of these opportunities to strengthen investment in Vietnam, thereby expanding their markets to other ASEAN countries.

Vietnam is making unceasing efforts to improve the business climate and create favorable conditions for foreign investors, the leader said, noting that the Vietnamese Government will accelerate investments in the development of the dairy industry.

For his part, Lukas Paravicini affirmed that Fonterra attaches great importance to the Vietnamese market.

Receiving Kim Willoughby, director of Deosan company, and Victor Truong, director of Richmond company, PM Phuc stressed the Vietnamese Government’s support for Deosan’s business activities as well as its cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises.

He called on Deosan, through its venture with Vietnamese firms, to transfer advanced production technologies, whilst building the milk quality control, examination and testing systems, towards enhancing the quality of Vietnam’s dairy products and increasing the value of export items.

The leaders of the two companies expressed their pleasure to meet with the Vietnamese PM, stating that they have already worked with their Vietnamese partners with the intention of fostering cooperation and supporting Vietnamese firms in the field of milk processing and production, thus contributing to improving the capabilities of Vietnamese dairy companies.
