PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng highly spoke of shipping industry

VNGOP – After fulfilling his right to vote in the morning of May 20 at the polling station No. 6, constituency No. 3, Ngọc Sơn Ward, Kiến An District, Hải Phòng City, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng visited some facilities of the Vietnam Shipping Industry Group (Vinashin).

The PM looked in some workshops, floating docks, machine rooms, and accommodation of hundreds of engineers and workers of different companies of the Nam Triệu Shipping Industry Corporation (a member of Vinashin). He also heard the report on the Corporation's performance in recent years and the operation in the time to come. 

Talking to the Corporation's executives, engineers and workers, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng highly appreciated Vinashin, and Nam Triệu Corporation, for their great efforts to develop Vietnam's shipping industry. The Corporation has increased its growth rate by eight times over the past 5 years. Its contracts to 2010 are worth of US$ 2 billion, including orders on building 56,000-ton ships, a 150,000 floating docks and freighters which can transport 7,000 automobiles. 

After analyzing Vietnam's sea potentialities and advantages, the PM emphasized that shipping industry must be one of Vietnam's top priorities. Vinashin should be the main force to make Vietnam's shipping industry to compete in the region and the world.

The Government head showed his hope that the whole sector will try to develop Vietnam as one of the world's leading ship-building centers, so that speeding up the country's industrialization and modernization.

Previously, on May 19, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng paid a visit to the Hải Phòng Shipbuilding and Equipment Manufacturing Company (LISEMCO), a member of LILAMA Corporation. The PM highly spoke of the Company for managing to design, produce and install steel structures, facilities, high-pressure tanks; repair and build high-tonnage ships for domestic and foreign customers.
