PM Dung lauded the guest’s presence at the 14th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK 14) and expressed his belief that the conference would be successful, opening investment opportunities for German businesses in Asia Pacific and Viet Nam.

He highlighted sound developments in the Viet Nam – Germany strategic partnership, saying that both countries should enhance cooperation in potential fields for mutual benefits and development.

PM Dung affirmed that Viet Nam always welcomes and creates favorable conditions for German businesses to invest successfully in the country.

He expressed his hope that Germany will further support the conclusion of the EU-Viet Nam Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) and the Viet Nam-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

Gabriel expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese Government and relevant agencies for their close coordination in organizing the APK 14.

The guest affirmed that Germany attaches importance to enhancing relations with Viet Nam in all fields, particularly in economics, trade, investment, culture, education and tourism.

An early conclusion of the PCA and the FTA will offer great chances to both sides’ businesses while ASEAN‘s prosperity and strength will facilitate investment activities of Germany and other EU countries in Southeast Asia and Asia, Gabriel said.

Regarding regional peace and security, Gabriel said that Germany is concerned about new developments in the East Sea where important international maritime routes run through with over 50% of the world’s cargo.

Germany and Europe also have vital interests in the region’s stability, he added.

Gabriel also stressed the principle of free navigation and global trade’s reliance on the stability, as well as German Government’s stance on the use of force and the threat of the use of force, which cannot be solutions for conflicts.

On the conference’s sidelines, PM Dung also received CEOs of Airbus and Deutsche Bank.
