PM Dung bids final farewell to Lee Kuan Yew in Singapore

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on Sunday joined the world leaders to bid final farewell to Singapore’s founding PM Lee Kuan Yew.

“On behalf of the Communist Party, State, Government, people of Viet Nam, and in my name, I would like to extend the deepest condolences to the People’s Action Party, State, Government, people of Singapore, His Excellency Mr. Lee Hsien Loong and your family” PM Dung wrote in the book.

“Mr. Lee Kuan Yew is the preeminent leader and strategist of Singapore and the world, a close friend of the Vietnamese people,” he wrote.

PM Dung said he has the honor of and keeps in mind the memories of the meetings with Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.

In his eulogy for his father delivered at the State funeral, PM Lee Hsien Loong said "We have all lost a father. We have grieved as one people, one nation." but "the grief we shared for Lee Kuan Yew brought us all closer together, made us stronger.”

His father’s life will inspire Singaporeans and others for generations to come, he adds.

During his stay in Singapore, PM Dung also met with Singaporean President Tony Tan and several leaders of ASEAN and other countries./.
