VGP – A VietJet Air flight carrying more than 240 Vietnamese citizens from Singapore landed at the Can Tho International Airport on Monday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

July 27, 2020 10:14 AM GMT+7

Earlier on July 26, over 310 Vietnamese citizens were brought home safely from the Republic of Korea (RoK), said the ministry.

The passengers are the elderly, children aged below 18, pregnant women, those in poor health conditions, workers with expired labor contracts, and students with no accommodations due to dormitory closure.

The Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK dispatched staff to support the passengers at the airport.

Strict security and safety measures were enforced during the flight to protect passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the disease.

After the flight landed at Ha Noi-based Noi Bai International Airport, all passengers and crew members were given health check and quarantined as regulated.

Since April 10, Viet Nam has organized 67 rescue flights, bringing home about 16,583 Vietnamese citizens stranded abroad due to Covid-19.

Vietnamese competent agencies and foreign representative offices will continue citizen repatriation work in accordance with the nation's quarantine capacity./.
