Over 100,000 firms make debut in Jan-Oct

VGP – In the first ten months of 2017, 105,125 enterprises were founded with a total registered capital of VND 1,021 trillion, up 14.6% in number and 43.8% in value in comparison with the same period last year.

The General Statistics Office (GSO) reported that in October, 11,158 firms were set up, valuing VND 119.2 trillion, up 29.6% in number and 48% in value in comparison with the same period last year. The newly-founded firms generated 90,000 jobs, a month-on-month surge of 40.5%.

In the tenth month, 1,329 enterprises resumed operation, posting a month-on-month decline of 31.7%. 

In the January-October period, 105,125 enterprises were founded and 22,765 others resumed operation. The newly-founded firms recruited 976,400 jobs, down 8% against the same period last year. 

However, in October alone, 4,043 firms temporarily suspended operation, a year-on-year decrease of 8%. 

In the first ten months, the number of temporarily suspended enterprises was 9,794, up 5.4% against the same period last year. Up to 91% of them (8,979 enterprises) had under VND 10 billion of charter capital each./.
