Number of ultra-high net worth individuals in 2020 down 4%

VGP – Viet Nam has around 390 ultra-high net worth individuals in 2020, down 4% compared to the previous year, according to the Wealth Report 2021 released by U.K. property consultant Knight Frank.

Viet Nam has around 390 ultra-high net worth individuals in 2020

Ultra-high net worth individuals are defined as those with a net worth of at least US$30 million, including their primary residence. 

The report forecasted that the number of ultra-high net worth individuals in Viet Nam will rise to 511 ones while the number of people with net wealth of more than US$1 million will be 25,800 ones. 

An individual in Viet Nam now needs a net asset of US$160,000 to join the so-called ‘1% club’ of the richest people in the country.

There were 19,491 people with a net worth of US$1-30 million last year, down 6% compared to 2019. 

The 2021 Wealth Report measures the size of wealth in more than 200 countries and territories.
