Number of newly-established enterprises soars

VGP – As many as 85,357 new enterprises were recorded in the first eight months of the year with a registered capital of VND822,100 billion, respectively up 16.3% and 44.8% against the same period last year.

The average registered capital of each enterprise reached VND9.6 billion, up 24.5%.

With 24,700 enterprises adding VND1,108.3 billion to capital, the total registered and additional capital attained VND1.930 trillion in eight months.

As many as 19,154 businesses re-operated, raising the total newly-registered and re-operated enterprises to 104,500.

A total number of 822,400 jobs were created, in eight months, down 4.1%.

Among main sectors, the retail sales took the lead in the number of newly-established enterprises with 30,700, followed by construction with 11,000, manufacturing and processing with 11,000 and science, technology, designing and advertisement with 6,400.

Businesses completing dissolution procedures numbered 7,754 in eight months, up 3.7%, including 7,146 with the capital scale of under VND10 billion.

Up to 45,776 enterprises temporarily stopped operating, up 13.3%.

In August only, 12,404 newly-established enterprises were announced, with a registered capital of VND131,400 billion and 1,605 businesses re-operated.

Meanwhile, 3,777 enterprises temporarily halted their business.
