Number of new firms set up in August up 3.5%

VGP – As many as 11,655 new firms were established in August with the total registered capital of VND107,600 billion, up 3.5% in the number and down 11.9% in capital against the previous month, according to the General Statistics Office.

In the month, 2,912 enterprises re-operated, down 2% while 6,216 ones temporarily stopped operating, down 22%. 

A total number of 87,448 new firms were recorded over the recent eight months of 2018, announcing the total registered capital of VND878,600 billion, up 2.4% in the number and 6.9% in capital against the same period last year. 

The average capital per enterprise was estimated at VND10 billion, up 4.3%. 

The Southeast region took the lead in the number of new firms established in eight months, with the total registered capital of VND400,700 billion.  

Businesses added VND1,679 billion to the economy, raising the total newly-registered and additional capital contributed to the economy to VND2.558 trillion. 

Up to 20,942 enterprises re-operated in eight months, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%. 

The number of enterprises completing dissolution procedures in eight months reached 9,135 ones, up 17.8%.
