The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism estimated that Viet Nam would receive 12.8 million foreign guests in 2017, posting a year-on-year increase of 28%. Generally, in 2016 and 2017, the number of foreign arrivals increased nearly 60% against the figure of 2015. This was the unprecedented growth.

Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien said that in 2017 Viet Nam would be able to catch up with Indonesia in tourism growth. However, the country should accelerate the growth rate and attract more tourists to enter the TOP 3 in ASEAN including Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand./.
