Number of guest workers surpasses targets in key markets
VGP – Key labor markets like the Republic of Korea (RoK), Japan, and Germany received more Vietnamese guest workers than forecast in 2017.

Large-scale labor sending programs to potential markets like Japan, the RoK, and Germany were implemented effectively by labor export agencies and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs.
Last year, the rate of guest workers selected and trained for the International Manpower Development Organization (IM Japan) met 199.3% of target. Up to 106% of them were sent to Japan. The Employment Permit System (EPS) of the RoK made up 106.6% of target. The German nursing program fulfilled 103% of target.
Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affair Doan Mau Diem assessed that the selection of applicants was conducted in a more professional way. Information on labor export was disseminated in a more transparent and open manner.
Deputy Minister Diep stressed the importance of properly conducting programs especially EPS with the RoK and IM Japan./.
