Number of administrative staffs for 2018 announced

VGP – The Government has announced that there are 265,106 staffs currently working in State administrative agencies, overseas representative agencies and specialized associations.

The above figure doesn’t include personnel working for the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense, those who work for public service delivery agencies and for communal authorities.

The figure includes 107,392 staffs from ministries, ministerial-level agencies, Governmental bodies and institutions established by the Government and the Prime Minister; 155,161 from administrative offices under the People’s Councils and People’s Committees at provincial and district levels; and 1,068 from overseas Vietnamese representative agencies.

New recruitment by ministries, agencies and localities shall not be allowed if such move causes any increase in the total number of staffs in 2018, even in case of establishing new units under each ministries, agency and locality.

The announcement is part of the Government’s effort to streamline the State apparatus and increase its efficiency./.
