April 26, 2020 11:20 AM GMT+7

The committee, however, warned that the community transmission risks still remain, thus citizens are advised to comply with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s Directive No. 19 and follow instructions recommended by competent authorities.

As of 9 am on Sunday, 2,919,462 people infected the virus in 212 countries with fatalities reaching

203,162, said the Ministry of Health.

The virus has spread to all ASEAN countries with total infection cases of 37,936, including 1,381 fatalities.

In Viet Nam, the patient tally reached 270 on April 24, of whom 225 have recovered and exited hospitals.

The patient tally include 140 community transmission cases.

Despite encouraging outcomes of the COVID-19 prevention and control, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said Viet Nam has only won individual battles, not the whole fight.

On April 25, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc ordered local authorities to prolong temporary suspension of festivals, religious and sports events in a bid to prevent spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Non-essential services like beauty clinics, karaoke, massage parlors, bars, entertainment venues will continue to remain closed until further notice , according to the Directive.

Services like wholesale and retail, lotteries,  hotels and other accommodation facilities, and restaurants, sport training facilities, tourist sites are allowed to reopen provided that the safety measures are deployed.

The Government chief also tasked the Ministries of Public Security, National Defense, and Foreign Affairs to continue restricting entry of foreign nationals and those allowed to enter Viet Nam shall have to be quarantined for 14 days as currently regulated./.
