The national conference entitled “Investment Promotion in Ninh Thuận in 2009" was held in the province on October 17 by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Provincial People’s Committee and the Japan External Trade Organization with the participation of State President Nguyễn Minh Triết, representatives of ministries, sectors and localities, and over 500 foreign and domestic investors.

State President Nguyễn Minh Triết said that Ninh Thuận is a promising investment destination since it has many attractive investment policies, urging the province to bring into play its strengths.

The provincial People’s Committee publicized the list of 54 investment projects calling for the total capital of some VND 38,670 billion, including the industrial-urban complex in Thuận Nam District (VND 6,100 billion), the Mũi Dinh eco-tourism site (VND 5,000 billion), the Nam Cương sand hill tourism site (VND 3,000 billion), and the Núi Chúa resort (VND 4,000 billion).

At the conference, Ninh Thuận handed over investment licenses to several projects, including the VND 1,499-billion Phước Hữu wind power and some big resorts.

Also on October 17, the province kicked off three major projects to build the Ninh Chữ Bridge with investment of nearly VND 193 billion, the Bình Tiên tourism site with VND 2,579 billion, and a salt plant with roughly VND 300 billion.
