Việt Nam's documentary heritage consisted of 34,555 plates of wood-blocks dated from the Nguyễn Dynasty. They contain the contents of various books on history, geography, socio-politics, military, legislation, education and literature.
Apart from their historical value, the wood-blocks also have artistic and technical merit as they mark the development of wood-block carving and printing in Việt Nam.
So far, the wood-blocks of the Nguyễn Dynasty are being preserved and stored in Đà Lạt City, Lâm Đồng Province.
Việt Nam is also preparing files on "Doctoral Steles" and a manuscript on President Hồ Chí Minh which will be submitted to the UNESCO for the recoginition.
