New photo reportage contest launched

VGP – A photo reportage contest titled Viet Nam – Dat Nuoc, Con Nguoi (Viet Nam – The Country and People) was launched in Ha Noi on September 6.

The contest was jointly organised by the Viet Nam Artistic Photographers’ Association (VAPA) and Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, aiming to reflect the country’s politics, economy, culture and society.

Journalist, photographer Pham Tien Dung, the editor-in-chief of the VAPA, the chief organizer of the contest announced that the contest is open for both domestic and foreign photographers who are living in Viet Nam.

Works must reflect news events, the daily life of people across the country, traditional handicraft villages, customs, festivals, environmental protection activities, tangible and intangible cultural heritage, islands and sea, investigation reportage on issues of public concern.

Each photographer can send 5-12 works in jpg formatting, 72 dpi resolution, 1,800 pixel of length in minimum, and 2MB size or above.

The organizer will receive works from September 30, 2015 to July 30, 2016. The awarding ceremony and photo exhibition will take place in October, 2016.

Winners will receive one gold prize, two silver prizes, three bronze prizes, and five consolation prizes./.
