Speaking at the meeting, PM D. Mevedev highly valued the meaning of the event, regarding it as the valuable opportunity for the two countries’ enterprises to seek information and exchange measures and activities to accelerate the relationship and create a new impulse for the two sides’ economic relations.

Viet Nam’s economy has deeply integrated globally, in particular into the Asian-Pacific and Southeast Asian regions, he asserted, adding that Russia considers Viet Nam as one of priorities in its diplomatic and international integration policies.

He proposed facilitating the two nations’ businesses and signing the Viet Nam-Customs Union Free Trade Agreement soon.

The Vietnamese Government attaches importance to enhancing comprehensive and effective cooperation across sectors as well as creating favorable conditions for Russian businesses to cooperate with Viet Nam in fields of oil and gas, energy, mine ores, education and training, automobile production, science and technology, tourism and labor, Deputy PM Hai confirmed.

The two-way trade turnover reached around US$4.3 billion.

Russia has poured nearly US$2 billion in 104 projects in Viet Nam, ranking 17 among nations and territories investing in Viet Nam. Meanwhile, Vietnam invested US$2.4 billion in 17 projects in Russia.

More than 100 enterprises from Viet Nam and Russia engaging in banking, energy, construction, mechanics, car making, education and tourism presented speeches to show their initiatives on cooperative opportunities.
