New A/H1N1 cases decrease

VGP - Until late Monday, 20 new cases of the A/H1N1 swine flu virus were confirmed, raising the total figure to 1,178 nationwide, including one death, reported the Department of Preventive Medicine and Environment, Ministry of Health (MoH).

People are recommended to wear facemasks when going out in public places

The number of new cases tested positive for the virus has been on the decline compared to the earlier figures.

The pandemic has spread to 32 out of 62 provinces and cities throughout the country.

So far, 716 patients have fully recovered and left hospitals; the rest 462 are still isolated and treated in medical centers without any serious complications.

The MoH said that information dissemination is the first priority to help citizens understand of the disease and ways to protect themselves from the threats.

The health agency recommends citizens to wear facemasks in public places.
