Nearly 300 Vietnamese and foreign passengers from Japan confirmed COVID-19 free

VGP - A total of 291 Vietnamese and foreign passengers on board a flight from Japan have tested negative for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) following their arrival at Da Nang International Airport, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The information about the negative tests was confirmed on July 6 by Dr Ton That Thanh, director of the Da Nang city Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.

Among the passengers, 178 are Vietnamese citizens being quarantined in military camps in Da Nang. A child has been placed into isolation at the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital.

The remaining 112 passengers who are experts from Japan, Thailand, and other countries employed by FPT Group have been put into a self-paid isolation area in the Sand Grands hotel in Son Tra district of Da Nang.

To ensure health for citizens and prevent the transmissions of COVID-19, national flag carrier strictly implemented precautious measures during the flight.

After landing at Da Nang International Airport, all passengers and crew members were sent medically checked and quarantined as regulated.

This is the 82nd repatriation flight arranged since April 24, transporting about 8,920 passengers from foreign countries and territories, official data showed.

As of early July 4, Viet Nam entered the 79th day without recording any new COVID-19 infection in the community, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

As many as 340 patients, or 95.8% of all infections, have recovered and there have been no related deaths./.
