September 21, 2020 9:20 AM GMT+7

A total number of 1,950 Vietnamese citizens fly home from four continents during September 13-20.

The passengers included children under 18 years old, the elderly, students who had completed their courses, severely ill people, workers with expired visas and labor contracts, stranded tourists, and those in especially disadvantaged circumstances.

To protect health of the passengers amid COVID-19 pandemic, security, safety and disease prevention measures were seriously carried out during the flights.

Right after landing at local airports, all the passengers received check-ups and were sent to concentrated quarantine sites in line with current regulations on COVID-19 responses.

So far, Viet Nam has organized 135 rescue flights to repatriate 39,025 citizens stranded abroad due to COVID-19.

More flights are set to be arranged in the time ahead to repatriate Vietnamese citizens with disadvantaged circumstances, depending on their need and domestic quarantine capacity.
