All works of journalism of Vietnamese and foreign authors, published on mass media between June 10, 2008 and August 19, 2010, are allowed to join the contest.

The main topic covers different Hà Nội-related issues, including cultural and historical events, activities to celebrate the 1000th anniversary, and the city’s socio-economic achievements.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyễn Thế Thảo, Mayor of Hà Nội, expressed his hope that the support of journalists and other authors to the contest will help to secure the success of the grand celebration.

Apart from certificates of merit and contest medals, the awards include a first prize valuing VND 20 million.
