National urban development program launched
VGP – The Results-Based National Urban Development Program in the Northern Mountains Region was kicked off on September 30 in Ha Noi by the Ministry ofConstruction and the World Bank (WB).

The move concretes the National Urban Development Programme in the 2012-2020 period and the National Urban Upgrading Program (NUUP) until 2020 which were ratified by the PM.
Earlier on July 17, 2014, the Vietnamese Government and the WB inked the Northern mountains urban development program in the 2015-2021 period with a total loan of US$ 250 million.
The credit package aims to perfect urban infrastructure, environment hygiene, and improve living standards for local residents in seven northern mountainous provinces including Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Dien Bien, Hoa Binh, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang and Yen Bai.
The program also targets to strengthen competence for policy makers and urban managers at local level./.
