National strategy on AI research and application

The strategy aims to promote AI research, development, and applications and transform AI into an important technology in the fourth industrial revolution.

By 2030, Viet Nam will become an innovation center with AI development solutions and applications in ASEAN and the world. 

Viet Nam aims to be listed in Top 4 in ASEAN and Top 50 in the world in AI research, development, and application. The country will house ten AI brand names in the region and develop three national center on big data storage.

About 50 open datasets will be formulated and interconnected among different economic sectors in  favor of AI research, development, and application. 

AI is developing rapidly and gradually affirming that it is a pillar and breakthrough technology in the fourth industrial revolution. Technological powers have long built their own AI development strategies, taking this technology as the core for accelerating economic development. 

AI is the focus of the global technology circle and governments around the world. Many countries have spent billions of US dollars on AI development strategies with the ambition to be the frontrunners of AI.

Viet Nam is not standing outside this development trend. In recent years, the country’s AI industry has made visible strides with increasing AI content in various products./.
