The test aims at honoring and encouraging the young workforce to pursue higher vocational standard, said Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Đàm Hữu Đắc at the press briefing on Monday to introduce the event.

This is the first time the test is organized in three locations with the biggest number of participants.

Most excellent contestants will be sent to the ASEAN Occupational Test in Thailand in November 2010 and another worldwide one in October.

Testing occupations include cooking, hotel and restaurant services, welding, industrial electronics, computer-based design, fashion technology, and automobile technology.

Raising the quality of workforce will be one of the Vietnamese Government’s top priorities and the test is just a mean of attaining that goal.
